Bartlett Arboretum Herbarium (Bartlett Arboretum-BART)

Although created in 1888, the Herbarium was inactive for nearly all of the 20th century. In 2006 the garden refocused upon science and the herbarium was moved from storage to the education building. Since 2006, the number of sheets has grown from roughly 1500 to 4800 cataloged with an expected 6,000 by the end of 2009. Specialty: Recent collections have focused on local flora of CT and NY, Amazonian Peru and the Caribbean including Florida although specimens have been added from elsewhere. Date Founded: 1888.
