Sweet Cherry: Eurasian species naturalized (birds favor the dark, purplish berries, 2.5 cm in diameter, avium = of birds) after having been brought in for cultivation. The teeth on the leaves are glandular, leaves are pubescent along nerves on underside; they are inclined to droop. The flowers appear in late April or early May; fruits ripen by July. The ashy-gray branches are distinctive.
